The value of cyber contracts awarded by the UK public sector has surged 345% since 2020.

Tussell's 2025 Market Snapshot shows that the Local Government cyber market was the fastest-growing public sector vertial between 2020 and 2024, with Local Governments awarding £208m of cyber contracts in 2024 - a 1004% increase on the £19m awarded in 2020.

The report also shows that 8 of the top 10 cyber security buyers in 2024 were Central Government Departments.

It also reveals that, in 2024, almost 1 in 3 public sector cyber security contracts were awarded to SME - with CACI, Delloite and PA Consulting topping the list of top cyber suppliers last year.
