Welcome to the latest edition of Tussell's Weekly Round-up, producing actionable insight on public procurement. Last week, total tender value rose significantly to £11.8bn, spread across 666 tenders posted by 391 buyers.
With just six weeks remaining this year, the number of tender opportunities is showing no signs of slowing down yet - remember, you can try Tussell for free to see how your firm can benefit.
Key market stats:
Two large notices propelled the large increases in both opportunities and award value last week. The Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation is inviting potential suppliers to apply for a £4bn Managed Services for Temporary Agency Resources framework.
Barclays, Lloyds and HSBC were amongst the nine suppliers listed on a £10bn Payments Solutions contract awarded by the Crown Commercial Service. Providing payment card, prepaid card and fund disbursement solutions, across the UK public sector. Applicants to the framework were requested to outline how they would minimise the risk of cyber attack in their proposed solutions - particularly salient given the Parliamentary report published this week that identified a growing and evolving cyber security risk to the UK. See our analysis published yesterday on the £785m market landscape for cyber security procurement in the UK public sector.
In Focus: Business & Financial Services
With Business & Financial Services dominating the biggest opportunities and awards this week, we've taken a closer look at what's been happening in the sector. Suppliers in this sector often overlook opportunities in Local Government, which last week were 4x more valuable than those in Central Government.
Frameworks worth £516m are expiring in Business & Financial Services before the end of 2018 - far more than any other sector. Being named on frameworks is essential for winning work across the public sector - sign up for an account now to see where you should be focusing your energies for the final push before Christmas, or get in touch to see how we can help.
