Post-Grenfell fire safety contracts ‘worth £661m’

“Spending on fire safety works is expected to reach £661m, according to data compiled by Tussell, a data provider on UK public procurement.

Some 221 tenders have been published, up 56% on the previous year.”[…]

“Gus Tugendhat, founder of Tussell, said: “The data shows a surge in tenders for fire safety work in the year since the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

“It is heartening to see that Grenfell has prompted long-overdue investment in fire safety across the wider public sector — particularly in local  government.”
