IBM and Fujitsu top IT & Telecoms ranking
As the wider public sector invests in tech infrastructure and digital transformation, our new analysis reveals the top IT & Telecoms suppliers in Q1 2018.
IBM topped the ranking with £94M worth of awards. This was largely driven by winning a £80M contract from the Ministry of Defence to provide a new ‘Air Command and Control’ computer system.
Other leading suppliers included Fujitsu in second place, Syntel third, Mercator IT fourth and Softcat fifth.

Softcat wins most contracts of any IT supplier
Softcat won 35 contracts – by far the largest volume of IT & Telecoms contracts of any supplier. The UK-based IT infrastructure firm picks up a large number of relatively low value contracts for software licenses and technology hardware.
£1B of IT & Telecoms awards expiring soon
More than £1.1B of IT & Telecoms awards are due to expire in the next 12 months – presenting significant opportunities for suppliers if these are replaced with new contracts.
A further 76 frameworks (essentially preferred suppliers lists) worth up to £4.4B are due to expire. Securing a place on future frameworks is crucial for firms looking to win work through ‘call-off’ awards.
