“This is the latest instalment of a weekly feature analysing the UK’s biggest public sector IT deals. In partnership with data analysis firm Tussell, we drill down into the top ten most valuable tenders and awards from the previous week, and take stock of which tech firms have won the biggest share of the public sector pie.

This week, the biggest tender comes from the Scottish government. Officials are searching for a firm to build fibre-connected masts to roll out 4G coverage to remote areas of the country in Scotland. The project forms the first part of a series of interventions to boost digital connectivity. Firms have until 18 May to apply for the contract, which is worth up to £25m.

The Northern Ireland Prison Service issued the biggest award of the week, but hasn’t disclosed the name of the contractor due to “security reasons”. Meanwhile, the biggest recorded supplier of the week is US professional services and IT giant Caci, which won a contract to provide a data collection system for the Scottish census. The deal is worth more than £7m."
