Parliament to outsource whistleblowing procedure amid claims of bullying
“Parliamentary authorities are to outsource complaint and whistle-blowing processes for the staff of MPs and peers after widespread bullying was revealed in Westminster.
An initial tender notice for a contract has been circulated, data company Tussell found, and although the contract has not yet been given a value, Parliament’s accounting officer David Natzler estimated in a memo earlier this year that such a move could cost the taxpayer up to £500,000 annually.
Parliament has been forced to consider outsourcing its human resources services after a survey of parliamentary staff at the end of 2017 found that one in five people working in Westminster had faced sexual harassment.”
