Outsourcers eye £661m fire safety contracts after Grenfell Offline

"UK outsourcers are poised to benefit from a £661 million surge in spending on fire safety works in the wake of the Grenfell Tower fire. 

In the past 12 months, there has been a rise in tenders for fire safety work from local government and housing associations.

Some 221 tenders were published worth a maximum £661 million, up 56% on the previous 12 months, data compiled by Tussell showed." [...]

"Gus Tugendhat, founder of Tussell, a data provider on UK public procurement, said: 'The data shows a surge in tenders for fire safety work in the year since the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

'It is heartening to see that Grenfell has prompted long-overdue investment in fire safety across the wider public sector — particularly in local  government.'"
